Girls Rising (previously known as the Big Sister League Mentor Program) is accepting applications for big and little sisters.
Mentors Make a Difference
National research shows that having a mentor makes a big impact. According to the study children who had a mentor for 18 months or more were:
- 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
- 27% less likely to begin using alcohol
- 52% less likely to skip school
- 33% less likely to hit someone
- 33% getting along better with their families
