In partnership with Outdoor Outreach, Girls Rising is able to host an annual overnight camping trip for our girls. We paused our camping trips during COVID and we are thrilled to be able to participate in this again in Spring 2023.

Our holiday parties are a HIT! Every year we celebrate the holiday season together with music, food, games, and cheer! Our Board of Directors purchases gifts for each girl and the gifts are comprised of one gift the Little Sister wants and one gift she needs. The parties are so fun I think it's safe to say it's a program favorite!

Girls Rising annual Career Day is a day for our girls to explore career paths and job opportunities they may not have previously considered. We bring in a robust variety of jobs, specialties, and skilled trades, to give our girls as much exposure as possible. During Career Day, girls will visit the exhibitor tables, as well as participate in interactive activities such as a resume building workshop, mock interviewing, and hear from recruiters about the importance of keeping a clean online footprint.

We incorporate health and wellness and art and music into our activities at every possible opportunity. From drum circles, to empowerment workshops, and everything in between, we are also looking for ways to partner with the community and corporate sponsors on introducing our girls to new experiences supporting our health and wellness and art and music initiatives. We incorporate STEM into our activities at every possible opportunity. Science, technology, education, and math play an essential part in our activities and events whether it's visiting a museum, hosting an art walk through Barrio Logan looking at and discussing the amazing murals, and everything in between.
